Finally, I think it’s official. I’m headed to Minnesota, to work as a nanny for another year. I’m finally going to live where it’s REALLY cold during the winter (Pennsylvania is only sort of cold). If you’re unsure where Minnesota is, take a look at the map, and see if you can find it in the top middle of the United States. Compare where South Carolina is, far south on the East Coast.
If you’re familiar with the area, then yes, I will be within the vicinity of Minneapolis and the Twin Cities. Can I talk about both in the same sentence? Yes, I know it refers to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. I’m sure I’ll figure out the answer to that, later.
For now, I hope you’ll bear with me as I have a lot of packing to do this week, a few people to say goodbye to, and a 20 hr (2 day drive) to get there. Until I work out what I can share about my continuing life as a nanny, when I arrive, I’ll do my best to tell you what it’s like living in a totally new (to me), completely unknown (never been there) state. And boy, it’s very likely that I’ll have a whole boatload of things to say about the cold, when winter arrives.
They tell me it can get to 30 below, and since I think that’s Fahrenheit, I cringe a bit. I’ve already heard something about Minnesota’s amazing State Fair, and I look forward to seeing it. There is much to see and learn about where I’m headed. I hope you’ll stay with me for the journey!
