oh, the officialness…

Finally, I think it’s official. I’m headed to Minnesota, to work as a nanny for another year. I’m finally going to live where it’s REALLY cold during the winter (Pennsylvania is only sort of cold). If you’re unsure where Minnesota is, take a look at the map, and see if you can find it in the top middle of the United States. Compare where South Carolina is, far south on the East Coast.

If you’re familiar with the area, then yes, I will be within the vicinity of Minneapolis and the Twin Cities. Can I talk about both in the same sentence? Yes, I know it refers to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. I’m sure I’ll figure out the answer to that, later.

For now, I hope you’ll bear with me as I have a lot of packing to do this week, a few people to say goodbye to, and a 20 hr (2 day drive) to get there. Until I work out what I can share about my continuing life as a nanny, when I arrive, I’ll do my best to tell you what it’s like living in a totally new (to me), completely unknown (never been there) state. And boy, it’s very likely that I’ll have a whole boatload of things to say about the cold, when winter arrives.

They tell me it can get to 30 below, and since I think that’s Fahrenheit, I cringe a bit. I’ve already heard something about Minnesota’s amazing State Fair, and I look forward to seeing it. There is much to see and learn about where I’m headed. I hope you’ll stay with me for the journey!

  1. Remember to take all things warm with you, as it can get really cold there. I am enjoying reading your adventures, and thank you for my view of Australia! Um, I also nominated you for the Versatile Blogger award (I know you’ve already received it, but I do so enjoy your blog!)

    • Yes, I’ll be taking everything I have with long sleeves and all my jeans, but I’m sure I’ll have to buy some “special” warm weather clothes. I left some of it in my storage unit in PA, so I’ll have to go there in a few months and check.

Thank you for the nomination! I’m thrilled to know that you like my blog that much! Unfortunately, I don’t have time to pass it on this time, but as you say, I received it elsewhere recently, so maybe that’ll be ok, this time? I have so much to do, and only a few days to do it! Thankfully, I’m driving this time, so I don’t have to limit myself to two suitcases. Thanks again!

  2. Be careful for tornados too! One of my friends lives in MN and is always worrying me about tornado warnings!! You’ll LOVE summer there though! I hope you have a great time in MN!
