the wog…

I was told that a vomiting “wog” was going around, which is likely what Bubby had, the other day. I think “wog” is what an American would call a “bug”. I think a wog sounds like a Dr. Seuss character. Anyway, since there’s nothing I hate more than throwing up, I was determined to resist it, if I came down with it.

Forget that. I don’t think I’ve ever had a stomach bug, in my whole lifetime, but I sure got this one. When there was nothing left in my system, I could just about cry because I was so hungry, thirsty, and miserable. And I live upstairs, so every trip up the steps is… exhausting.

So, I had a blog post in mind, for yesterday, but you’ll just have to wait until I’m feeling better. Today, I’ve been able to keep liquid down, and I’ve just embarked on my first Jatz cracker (similar to Ritz). You’ve never known how wonderful water and lemonade soda taste, until you haven’t drunk anything in almost 24 hours.

At present, I feel like I’ve been run over by a steamroller, every muscle hurts, and I have no energy. After I’ve finished my Kirks lemonade, I’m going back to bed. I am SO grateful for the grandparents being willing to look after Sadie and Bubby. I can barely walk straight, much less pick a toddler up. For all the times your mom was sick, but still took care of you anyway, you call her and thank her for it.

And if you’re local, pray you don’t get it. I don’t think I’ll have the energy to go to Bible Study, tonight.

    • I don’t mind. I hope you weren’t offended. Someone over here DID warn me, later, that it had other meanings, but I didn’t have time to look them up. All I know is that’s the only term my Aussie family uses for it, and I do try to share the new words I learn, to bring my friends into my adventure. : ) And I was absolutely exhausted, when I wrote that blog post, so I didn’t have time for any research. I’m feeling great now, thanks!
